TAX ADVISORY FIRM OF THE YEAR Firm Profile The accounting practice, Hobbs, Niles & Co., was launched on December 2, 2004 and provides audit, advisory and tax services to both offshore and local clients. The firm has two experienced partners, Mr. Anthony Hobbs and Mrs. Sylvia Browne-Niles. The expansion of the practice necessitated the addition of seven (7) full time qualified accountants and two (2) sub-contract qualified accountants to the audit firm, bringing the total technical and support staff to a compliment of eleven (11). Over 80% of their clients operate in the International Business Sector in Barbados conducting business in such industries as banking, finance, mining, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, insurance, retail, engineering, geophysical survey services and construction among others. About Anthony Anthony Hobbs, co-founder and Managing Partner of Hobbs, Niles & Co., is a Chartered Accounting firm established on December 2, 2004. He currently provides tax and audit advisory services to clients in both the international and local business sectors in a wide cross section of industries. He audits the financial statements of companies who report under International Financial Reporting Standards and Canadian generally accepted accounting principles for private enterprises and companies operating in specialised industries such as insurance, international financial services and mining. One area of expertise is advising clients on the impact of international tax structures from a Barbados regulatory standpoint. Previously, Anthony spent 17 years working with the international firm Deloitte and earned his Certified General Accountants designation in 1996. He is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados and amember of the Chartered Professional Accountants and Certified General Accountants of British Columbia.
