However, his responsibilities also include providing legal assistance for complex IT projects and implementation of data protection management systems. The main focus is on providing clients with comprehensive advice, for example for the design of new business models or use of new technologies in the area of digitalisation or Industrie 4.0. Jan-Dierk Schaal joined KPMG Law in 2014. Previously, he worked at SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte from 2003 - 2013. Jan-Dierk Schaal studied law in Bonn (Germany) followed by a Master of Commercial Law from the University of Melbourne (Australia). He specialises in industrial property law. His fields of law and focus of advisory services are intellectual property, fair competition law, IT contract law, data protection, media and technology law and telecommunications law.
