About Ian Govier Our team is led by Ian Govier, an experienced tax and business professional with 33 years of experience gained with government, in industry and in professional practice. With his guidance the Certius team strives to combine the experience and reliability of a large advisory practice with the client-focus of a boutique firm. Ian is a Chartered Tax Adviser, holds a degree from the University of London, a Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, is a fellowof the Chartered Management Institute and member of the Institute of Directors. Originally starting out as a research scientist, his career in Tax began as a direct entrant graduate HM Inspector of Taxes with the Inland Revenue (now HMRC) followed by senior roles with international accounting firms and multinational companies. Ian was a partner with KPMG and Grant Thornton as well as global Head of Tax for Amersham International. Ian has held a number of non- executive director roles and charity trustee roles including as a Board member of the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Director and Chair of Trustees of Hope Housing Training and Support Limited and Director/Trustee of the Dorset County Show.
