ABOUT JEREMY SOBOIL Jeremy is one of the Founding Directors and CEO of IBIS Consulting and has 24 years experience in the environmental, health & safety and sustainability management fields. He has worked in over 30 countries in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Jeremy primarily advises clients in the financial sector, including banks, private equity firms, impact investors and DFI’s on Environment Social Governance (ESG) issues. His expertise primarily covers transaction advice and due diligence, management systemdevelopment and implementation, and monitoring and reporting on performance in line with internationally accepted standards. Much of this work has involved helping Africa focussed funds, and their respective portfolio companies, implement systems and processes to meet investor requirements and adhere to the IFC’s Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability. Jeremy has BSc (Zoology and Geography), BSc Honours (Environmental Water Management) and MPhil Environmental Science (Cum Laude) degrees. He was the recipient of the Top Academic Student Award for his BSc Honours Degree and the Shell Top Academic Student Award for his Master degree. Since 1998, Jeremy has regularly lectured to the Honours and Masters Programmes on Environmental Management and Sustainability at the University of Cape Town.
