Standard Chartered in Brazil
Standard Chartered has had a presence in Brazil since the 1970s. In 2019, we converted to a representative office in Sao Paulo. All products and services are carried out by our principal financial institution abroad.
Our Brazil office enables us to better serve our Americas and Europe client base by facilitating trade and investment flows between the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Our Corporate & Institutional banking strategy is focused on financial institutions, multinationals and select Latin American corporates with links to the Standard Chartered global network. We support our client base through Trade Finance, Cash Management, Corporate Finance, DCM and other products that we offer offshore.
Our representative office in So Paulo offers a broad range of offshore products for local financial institutions and corporations looking to do business across our international network.
Transaction banking
Our banking heritage spans more than 170 years. And throughout the decades, we've combined the stability of an international bank with the close market proximity of a local one. This means we can shape solutions to meet the needs of both your global headquarters and local offices.
We know that above all, you need reliability. That's why our commitment to service excellence - to ensure efficiency and accuracy for your daily cash, trade and working capital operations - is unwavering.
But we also know that you increasingly need access to digitally-enabled solutions and data to power decisions and drive profitability. On top of this, you're ever-more mindful of the world around you, seeking banking support that helps balance these goals with one of being more sustainable. We commit to being that support.
Financial markets
Emerging and frontier financial markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East present huge reward potential. And over the past 10 years, access has improved, with more foreign participation than ever before.
Still, many markets and currencies remain restricted, and as home to nine-tenths of the world's population, their potential is only set to rise. Plus given other regional dynamics - urbanisation, rising purchasing power, and expanding technological possibilities - the value of investing here is clear.
Having been on the ground in these markets for decades, we can guide you through the local nuances. But beyond this, we can be your local advocate. By working with governments, regulators and clearing systems, we pioneer new opportunities for you.
These markets are also home to the greatest ESG opportunities, as sustainable capital here will have the greatest impact. We take our responsibility to channeling such capital seriously - embedding sustainability targets into our solutions. Plus, we're finding innovative ways to support organisations' transitions to net zero.
