About Gisela Pieterse
Gisela Pieterse leads the Africa Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) service line for the Tax practice, one of the largest compliance departments in Africa comprising of Tax Accounting, Payroll and Companies Act compliance. She specialises in corporate tax reporting and accounting compliance processes. She is also the Africa Tax Technology and Transformation Leader, leveraging digital solutions to transform tax functions by revolutionising traditionally reactive compliance functions through data and technology initiatives, creating seamless and integrated systems.

Gisela’s client portfolio spans global multinational companies in the Retail and Consumer, Pharmaceutical and Mining and Energy sectors. With over 28 years of local and international experience in professional services, she also has advised clients on Grants and Incentives legislation.

A seasoned Tax Professional and Chartered Accountant, she holds a MCom in Taxation from the University of Pretoria. Gisela is a published author and represents tax on numerous EY leadership platforms.

Beyond the advisory work, Gisela is the Partner Sponsor of the South Africa Tax Graduate Programme where she uses her passion for learning and knowledge to mentor, coach and impact the career trajectory of aspiring tax professionals.
